Eastern Lands is a play-by-post roleplay based on the world of Tamora Pierce, set over a hundred years before The Song of the Lioness in the year 311 in the Human Era.
Tamora Pierce's world is a late medieval fantasy that is very easy to integrate and play in and we require no previous knowledge of the books.
Baird V has been on the throne a year and during that time he has spent more money than many kings before him. Tortall is in a time of relative peace but with the crown spending money on parties, their enemies seek to test the country's grip on its hinterlands.
Calendar
The time to really prepare for winter, including more hunting, fishing and collecting acorns for the pigs to eat.
Weather
November was generally overcast and rainy. Some areas of Tortall saw devastating flooding from strong rainstorms from the 4th to the 6th and the 19th to the 21st.

Residences
The Residences of the Royal Palace are split into different wings of the sprawling palace. The Royal Wing is home to the Contés, the ruling royal family of Tortall as well as visiting royalty. The Noble's Wing is really a misnomer, with suites for nobility found spread out in the palace, their sizes depending on the rank and importance of the family. The pages get their own wing, devoted to their housing and education.

Palace Grounds and Gardens
Quite extensive, the Palace grounds extend well around the buildings itself, and clear up to the Royal Forest. Comprising of many areas, including outdoor games such as bowls and skittles, as well as mazes, gardens and even a cemetery with mausoleums for departed royals and those close to them, most of the space is dedicated to elaborate formal gardens

Training Courts
This large section of the palace is near the Page's Wing, and is open for all palace residents. Comprised of many different practice courts, every type of combat style was taken into account.

Highfields
Highfields is the city's northernmost district, only bordered by Prettybone District in the south. Land is usually cheaper north of the Olorun so many merchants live here. In the northern reaches are the trades that tend to be anti-social; breweries, tanners, etc. Beyond the city limits is Outwalls Prison and Execution Hill.

On the northern bank of the Olorun river, Prettybone is known for its taverns, gamehouses and places of ill-repute. Here is where one looking for a good time can find many theatres, with land being cheap to buy.

Flash
Flash is situated on the southern side of the Olorun River. On its western border is the Lower City; on its southern border are Patten District and Unicorn District. There is a large population of rogues in the district as well as mages, with a large mage school on the edge of the city.

The Lower City
Once good farmland, hundreds of years ago, the Lower City is the poorest part of the city as well as the lowest along the city walls meaning it grows darker there earlier than other districts. The worst part of the district is the Cesspool.

Patten
Named after the wooden shoes women wear to keep the city muck off their shoes, Patten is a reflection of this, taking its population out of the muck of the Lower City. It is a diverse district with noble households near the south and east borders and middling families and businesses to the north and west.

Unicorn
The district marks the eastern border of the city of Corus and is one of the wealthier districts in the city. Populated more by wealthy commoners than nobles, Unicorn offers many schools, both academic, trade and magical.

Along Market Way, which will turn into Palace Way at the Temple District. Full of the wealthiest households in the city, with noble houses growing as the streets rise along Palace Hill.

Temple District
The Temple District is—except for the royal palace--the southern-most part of Corus and came up just before the palace. It was patrolled by guards of many different faiths with countless temples. It borders Upmarket at Harmony Way and Palace Way cuts through it, the district offers safe passage for anyone passing through.
